Mark Feltham

Mark started playing at the age of 6 but only really seriously became interested in the harmonica in his late teens. His first musical break came when he was approached by Dennis Greaves to form Nine Below Zero in 1977. After 5 happy years the band dissolved in 1982 and Mark went into session work he then became a permanent member of the Rory Gallagher band. This lasted until 1991 when the decision was made to get Nine Below Zero back together using the talents of Gerry McAvoy and Brendan Oneill on Bass & Drums both from Rory's band. This format lasted for 1 year Mark then decided to go back into session work and come off the road for a while. He was then enlisted back into the Rory fold where he stayed until Rory's untimely death in 1995.
After this he toured and played with Talk Talk, Oasis and Texas while still maintaining a busy studio schedule with various Film and T.V credits.
Mark then embarked on a World tour with Rock giant Zucchero through 1999 and 2000 finally he rejoined Nine Below Zero in January 2001.
His collaboration with Gerry, Brendan and Dennis has spanned 25 years and he is now enjoying making music again with his old friends .

Mark was recently in studio working on new Joss Stone record in London, and has also just returned from Moscow, where Nine Below Zero were DVD favourites among the Russian blues public in the revered B B King blues Club Cinema surroundsound in central Moscow.

Mark was in the studio recently with David Soul of Starsky and Hutch fame, to record some show music for David's new West End show.
Mark was very impressed with the considerable musical knowledge and talent that David showed, and indeed, David is a huge blues fan, hanging out with Steve Miller, etc during his early showbiz career in Hollywood.

Marks back on the session trail. He has just completed two sessions for the small screen.

A new BBC series called "BLACKPOOL" which transmits in November. Seems it has received rave reviews.

Also the new series of "Auf Wiedersein Pet" coming soon.

Mark has also been brought in as Technical consultant on the new Brian Jones movie.

Just released March 2005 a French Canadian movie Mark has played on.
